Gingerbread Latte

What kind of treats or flavors would come to your mind as you think about the Christmas season? For me, it’s gingerbread! Christmas is definitely one of my favorite seasons of the year and even better when I get to make a cup of homemade Gingerbread Latte right from home.

This holiday drink is made using Mr. Coffee® OneTouch Coffeehouse+! You can easily make espresso, lattes, cappuccinos at one touch of a button. The best part is you can also adjust the frothiness level of the milk! Love a good creamy foam on top of my drink.

Ingredients:

¼ cup water

⅛ cup brown sugar

2 tbsp molasses

3-5 slices of fresh ginger

¼ tsp cinnamon powder

Ground espresso powder

Milk

Water

Steps:

  1. To make a gingerbread simple syrup, in a small saucepan, add in ¼ cup water, ⅛ cup brown sugar, 2 tbsp molasses, 3-5 slices of fresh ginger. Bring it to a boil and simmer for about 5 minutes.

  2. Fill water to the water reservoir and milk to the milk reservoir

  3. Using a double shot porta-filter, fill it with ground espresso coffee. Using the tamper, tamp the coffee grounds down so that it’s compact and even.

  4. Place the porta-filter underneath the brew head and make sure to lock it in place.

  5. In a coffee mug, add in 2 tbsp of the gingerbread syrup and ¼ tsp cinnamon powder. Place the mug on the drip tray.

  6. Position milk frother outlet close to the glass. Adjust the level of frothed milk to your likeness. Tap twice on the latte icon for a large cup size.

  7. Let it brew, which takes like a minute and you can cozy up and enjoy a cup of warm gingerbread latte!
